FAQ

Where are you based? Amsterdam, NL is my home base.

Where’d you live before that? After 15 years in Brooklyn, NY, I relocated to Amsterdam in Summer 2023. Before that, I was in Portland, OR. I love the Pacific Northwest.

What program do you use to edit? My current preference is Premiere Pro. I do titles/VFX in After Effects. If you’re looking to have full-on animated sequences in your project, I know a lot of great illustrators/animators too.

Do you have your own office? What tools do you use? Yes. I’ve been working remotely for years with clients in multiple time zones (NYC/London/LA/SF). My most common remote technology stack includes Adobe Team Projects, MASV or Lucid Link and Slack. I’m comfortable with all sorts of collaborative remote workflows, let’s find out the best solution for you.

Do you do color correcting and sound mixing as well? Sure do! For short-form content, I do the color and mix as well. For features/TV, I lock picture and it heads over to those departments for mastering.

What do you like to do when you’re not editing? Go on road trips, visit roadside attractions, ride my bike all over, play retro video games, play surf music with friends, watch cult classics and documentaries. I’ve also hosted a bunch of Pub Trivia nights and done live storytelling.

What topics interest you the most? My favorite thing about working in documentary is learning about people and topics I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. But definitely bonus points for projects about outsiders/underdog stories, artists, nerds, video games, technology, Internet culture, queer people or celebrity culture.

When in the process do people hire you? Anywhere from the initial project pitch to when they’re deep in post-production with a deadline looming and another editor that isn’t working out and they call me to fix it.

This sounds great, what are the first steps to chat with about you potentially editing my project? Awesome! Use the form to the right here and send me: 1) a synopsis 2) your timeline and 3) If available - a sample or trailer (10 min or less). Looking forward to hearing about your project!
